I choose the persona name Desiderata Drake because it sounded elegant, regal and oh so Lady-like. However, it was soon found out that though I can dress the part, I certainly cannot act it, so am henceforth known as Desi Duck - QUACK QUACK!!  I am relatively new to the SCA (active for only one year) and am interested in all aspects of it - fencing, archery, A&S, brewing, dancing and lets not forget the knights in shinny armor (hey, I can see myself in your chest!) and the barbarians in leather...  mmmm  leather. 

At any given event, just follow the sounds of quacking and riotous laughter and you will find me chugging from my ogre-sized mug of cordial while spinning round and round to see how much my skirts flair (because it's just fun). Stick around for awhile and experience the passionate carefree zanniness that is me and you will be sure to be shaking your head with a confused and perplexed cheshire-cat-sized grin on your face while thinking "Is she for real?" 

Well, Lords and Ladies, yes, yes I am for real. I take the time to stop and smell the roses, soak in the everyday beauty that surrounds us, and bask in the pleasure that is life. I believe in kicking up your heels and thumbing your nose at those who cannot laugh at themselves. I follow my heart (and long haired beauties with a great ass) down the roads less traveled so that I may discover something new and wonderous to behold.
